A peep into my school garden

06-03-2025

A child's magical school garden adventure, where whispering trees, a friendly chameleon, and a heart-shaped mountain became her wonderful new friends.

I came and sat on the stairs of my school garden. I noticed the mighty trees, flowers, soft plants, the mountains and a big rock slide. I thought, if the mountains could talk to me, it would tell me tales that happened a long time ago. I wished if the birds in the mighty trees could sing a soft nice melodious song for me. When a gust of wind came by, it softly brushed my hair. I chuckled a little as I felt the tingling sensation of the wind. I still wished if the tall trees can tell me the little secrets and we could giggle and laugh out loud. I accidentally slipped and fell on the sand in the garden. I enjoyed looking at the leaves falling down from trees. As I was enjoying the lush green garden, a huge chameleon was gazing at me from one of those trees. I jumped as I was a little scared at the first sight but after a few minutes I realized it looked cute.

I stood behind a rock and peeped at it.It peeped it’s little head out and I felt it was trying to tell me …”I am sorry,I didn’t mean to scare you dear”. It pulled its head back and moved away. I thanked the chameleon for it amused me by its reaction. I am sure these trees have more stories to tell me. so, I asked the mighty trees if they could talk to me. To my surprise one tall tree started talking to me shaking it’s branches and leaves. The heart shaped mountain captured my attention and I admired the mighty mountain for a few minutes. I started drawing the shapes of those mountains and trees in my note book.

After an hour I stood and walked through the garden happily touching the soft petals of the flowers that have freshly bloomed in the garden.I touched the leaves of the Spider lily plant too. I realized that all the trees, flowers and mountains have become my friends.Suddenly,my friend Teju reminded me that I need to go back to class. After I went to class the thought about school garden was still lingering in me that I told to my teacher and friends about what I experienced. It did not stop here.On my way back home in van,I had these stories to share.Once I reached my sweet home ,I shared the same with my parents. As I slept at night, the same garden came in my dream. It never disturbed my sleep but let me sleep peacefully.
