Green-A-Thon: A Student-Led Movement for Climate Action

CS Academy’s Green-A-Thon, under the International Schools Partnership Changemakers: Ideas for Action initiative, emerged as a powerful student-led movement addressing rising temperatures in Coimbatore. Nearly 900 participants, including students, parents and the public, came together to promote sustainability through purposeful action. 

A key highlight was the distribution of native saplings, encouraging families to contribute to local biodiversity and long-term ecological balance. The event also combined fitness with environmental awareness, reinforcing the idea of collective responsibility. 

Meticulously planned and executed by students, the initiative showcased leadership, collaboration and civic engagement, transforming a simple run into a meaningful community-driven effort for climate action and sustainable change.
